Matthew Adams
Practice Manager
Matt, originally from the UK graduated from agricultural college, and spent his early career working on dairy, beef, sheep and arable farms. With years of experience and knowledge Matt went on to educate future generations of farmers by managing, teaching and lecturing at many agricultural colleges in the UK. Matt branched out into the veterinary sector of the animal industry in 2017. Since then, Matt has managed our veterinary team.
Matt has a zoo at home consisting of; cattle, guinea pigs, dogs, guinea fowl and parrots. Matt has two young boys that enjoy the outdoors. In his spare time you would find Matt with his family, motorbiking, kayaking, making ceramics, adoring his cows and planting trees. Skiing, travelling, reading books and listening to music are some of his favourite pastimes.

It has been a lifelong passion for Sarah to become a vet nurse, and she adores caring for your beloved pets. She loves and takes care of them like they are her own. Sarah completed her certificate IV in veterinary nursing here at Lava Street Veterinary Clinic.
Sarah is the owner of very mischievous and fun-loving Cocker Spaniel, Korra, a very snappy turtle and a beautiful standardbred called Willow.
Sarah is a very energetic person who loves her family and friends and enjoys a good joke. She loves avocado and puts it on anything.

Ashlyn Rivett
Head Nurse
Ashlyn grew up in Woodford, a small town outside of Warrnambool. Growing up she was always surrounded by pets, whether it was bunnies, fish, birds, guinea pigs, cats or dogs.
As Ashlyn got older and after trialling different career paths, she knew she was passionate about working with animals and joined our team to commence her study to become a veterinary nurse.
When Ashlyn is not at work, she enjoys taking her family's dogs for a walk on the beach and for a swim in the ocean.
Ashlyn has a gorgeous dog called Stormi and a lorikeet called Crumpet.

Dr Isabelle O'Brien

Isabelle grew up on a farm on the outskirts of Warrnambool. She completed a marine science degree and then gained her BVSc with honours from UQ. Over the next 10 years she worked in busy practices in the Northern Rivers, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. She moved back to Warrnambool for family reasons (not the weather!), joining the Lava St family. As a vet her passions are surgery and radiography.
Outside of the vet world she teaches yoga and reformer pilates. She and her husband have 3 kids, a cheeky cat Benji, an axolotl Norma Jean, and 7 chickens. She is obsessed with learning and is halfway through a certification in Ayurvedic Health, learning the harp and dabbling in art (currently watercolour and mosaic). Born a beach bum, she loves being in the outdoors – travelling overseas, camping, beach swims and beach walks, bushwalks and gardening. At the end of the day she loves nothing better than a book and a cup of tea near the fire.

Sam graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne in 2002. Sam started her career in Portland and then moved to a clinic in Warrnambool to be closer to her husband. Sam relishes the challenge of small animal practice, particularly enjoying surgery.
Sam lives out of town with her husband and 4 kids where they rear calves. Ebony & Herbert are the resident spoilt Miniature Schnauzers who allow the cats Lizzy, Pepper and 20 year old Twisties to cohabitate.
Sam loves getting involved in the community through her close relationships with the local kindergarten and school, as well as the Warrnambool Community Garden. She loves to cook, garden and dabble in a large variety of crafts in her time off.

Upon graduation, she worked in mixed practice in Warrnambool and the UK. Jenny decided to make the move into small animal practice in 2023 and joined the Lava Street Veterinary Clinic team.
Outside of work Jenny spends time with her family and friends and likes to head back to South Australia to see her family. Jenny loves taking her dogs to the beach and has a menagerie of animals at home.

Following the trend of moving south and escaping the hustle and bustle of busy cities, Jessica made the move to south west Victoria and joined the Lava Street Veterinary Clinic team to continue her passion and care as a small animal clinician.
Jessica loves all things feline, both at work and outside work, and currently has 2 cat sidekicks named Tama and Bean, along with foster kittens.
So far, Jessica has been enjoying the relaxing pace of Warrnambool and the surrounds, and exploring the many sights and beaches that the area has to offer. Outside of work, Jessica may be found fostering animals, going for nature hikes, or travelling and experiencing other cultures.

Ashlee is a Warrnambool local and has always had an interest in the care and healthcare for animals which drove her to move to Ballarat to complete a degree in Veterinary and wildlife science. Now working in the clinic as Assistant Head Nurse, she is able to put all her knowledge and care into looking after your pets.
Ashlee has a bustling home with 3 large personality cats, 2 Guinea pigs, and numerous goldfish.
Outside of work, Ashlee loves cuddling up with her cats and reading, as well as painting and other arts & crafts.

Maddison has grown up on a farm in Allansford and has had the opportunity to be around animals her entire life. She has always loved animals and has two beautiful dogs, Harry and Leia, as well as two cats, a turtle, a budgie and a fish. Maddison has also enjoyed raising pet lambs.
Maddison's other passion is sport. She loves playing netball and competing in sport aerobics and hip hop, and has done so from a very young age. Maddision is looking forward to learning from the other members of the LSVC team as she studies Certificate II in Animal Care, and is excited about becoming a fully qualified veterinary nurse in the future.

Outside of work, she enjoys athletics, playing with her dogs, socialising with friends and helping on the family farm.
