Matthew Adams

Practice Manager

Matt, originally from the UK graduated from agricultural college, and spent his early career working on dairy, beef, sheep and arable farms. With years of experience and knowledge Matt went on to educate future generations of farmers by managing, teaching and lecturing at many agricultural colleges in the UK. Matt branched out into the veterinary sector of the animal industry and purchased the clinic with his wife Hollie, our head vet, in 2017. Since then, Matt has managed our veterinary team.

Matt has a zoo at home, with his main side kick, Salty, a staghound rescue dog being his shadow. 

Matt and Hollie have 2 young boys that enjoy the outdoors. In his spare time you would find Matt with his family, riding his horse, Paddy, motorbiking, kayaking, adoring his cows and planting trees. Skiing, travelling, reading books and listening to music are some of his favourite pastimes.


Dr Hollie Adams

Veterinarian & Practice Owner (BSc (Hons) BVM&S)

Hollie is originally from the UK and did her veterinary degree at Edinburgh University. Prior to qualifying as a vet, Hollie graduated from her first degree with first class honours and worked as an animal nutritionist. Hollie has two boys, Charlie and Gus, with her husband Matt, who is our practice manager.

Hollie has a gorgeous staghound called Salty, a very handsome boxer cross called Moose, and a menagerie of horses, cattle, parrots, sheep, pigs, chickens and guinea fowl. Hollie loves all aspects of being a vet, but spending time helping clients and their beloved pets through medical and surgical conditions is by far the most rewarding and enjoyable part of the job. Hollie enjoys the challenge of in depth medical and surgical cases, and prides herself on offering the best standard of care.

During her spare time, Hollie enjoys spending time with her family and animals, riding her horse, swimming in the ocean and gardening.


Dr Fiona Warton

Veterinarian

Fiona graduated from Melbourne University as a veterinarian in 1997 and subsequently worked in both dairy and mixed practive in Victoria for 6 years. Following this Fiona moved to South Australia to work as a small animal clinician in a large rural practice. Fiona enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, including behaviour, and loves building bonds with her patients.

Fiona has had a wide range of pets, including chickens, peacocks, an alpaca, dorper sheep, dogs, cats, and birds, and currently has a darling old Papillon, a rescue cat, and four indian ringneck birds.

Fiona moved to the western district with her husband and daughter and loves living in the area, enjoying the beach and Tower Hill, amongst other hobbies such as, gardening, cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

 


Dr Sam Remington

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Sam graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne in 2002. Sam started her career in Portland and then moved to a clinic in Warrnambool to be closer to her husband. Sam relishes the challenge of small animal practice, particularly enjoying surgery.
Sam lives out of town with her husband and 4 kids where they rear calves. Ebony & Herbert are the resident spoilt Miniature Schnauzers who allow the cats Lizzy, Pepper and 20 year old Twisties to cohabitate.
Sam loves getting involved in the community through her close relationships with the local kindergarten and school, as well as the Warrnambool Community Garden. She loves to cook, garden and dabble in a large variety of crafts in her time off.


Nicole Smith

Head Nurse

Growing up on a farm in Mepunga, Nicole had always wanted to work with animals and dedicate her life to their care and welfare.

Nicole began her veterinary nursing career in Queensland in 2012. One year later she moved back to windy Warrnambool and found herself here with us at the clinic. During this time, she completed her certificate IV in veterinary nursing through Box Hill institute.

Whilst working here, Nicole has adopted a black greyhound named Ally, who now is a part of the tripod club. Ally loves taking over Nicole's bed and couch without asking. Nicoles also owns as chestnut thoroughbred called Nova, who was rescued, and completes her little family.

Nicole's love and passion really shines through when she comes to work and she loves caring for every patient that walks through the door. In the future, Nicole plans to complete her Diploma of Veterinary Nursing.

In her spare time, Nicole enjoys Netball, sleeping with her lazy greyhound, horse riding and travelling the world.


Jessica Shepherd

Veterinary Nurse

Jessica is from Kongorong, South Australia and has grown up on a beef and sheep farm, being surrounded by animals her whole life, hence her love for working with animals of all sizes. Jess always had her eyes set on working alongside animals, and joined the Lava Street team in October of 2018, to commence and dedicate her career and study to animals. Jessica is currently studying to complete her cert IV in veterinary nursing.

In her spare time, Jess finds herself spending time with and working with her family's harness racing horses, and also riding/competing horses, or spending time with Jock and Bonnie; her family's two extremely hyperactive Kelpies, and also Oscar, the rescue dog. 


Georgie Price

Veterinary Nurse

Georgie grew up on a farm on the Mornington Peninsula before moving with her family to a large farm near Hexham in 2000. She has always had a deep love and affection for animals, both great and small, collecting quite the menagerie over the years.

Georgie is married and a mum of three children, with a background in Human Nursing, customer service and cooking. 

Trudie the Wonderdog, a rescued Kelpie X is her fourth child, along with 11 year old Batman the ragdoll reject cat, Kip, a 3 legged, beautiful Kelpie and  five lovely hens and a sweet chestnut mare called Elly who currently completes the family. 


Evie Oliver

Veterinary Nurse

Evie grew up on beef and sheep farms in the Grampians and Bonnie Doon. Always interested in working within the veterinary industry, Evie started working at veterinary clinics whilst still at  school. Over the years, she has gained experience working within a variety of clinics, including large animal, exotics & small animal specialist level nursing. After spending the last few years travelling and working around Australia, she is glad to be back in Warrnambool. 
At home Evie has 3 dogs, Finnbarr, Feta and Moli. As well as 2 cats, Velma & Yzma, and her handsome horse, Fergal. 


Demilee Riches

Veterinary Nurse

Demilee grew up on a farm located 25km from Colac with all sorts of small and large animals to care for. For the past 4 years, Demilee has been living in Warrnambool and has been working on dairy farms and racing stables prior to starting at the vet clinic. Demilee has always had a strong care and love for all types of animals and has decided to step up to the vet nurse life style to care for animals and help their loving owners.
Demilee has a few family members; a Blue Healer x Coolie,  a little Chihuahua that rules the house/world, a water python that is super friendly and 3 beautiful horses. To complete the family, Demilee has a wonderful partner and he has a little Jack Russell cross called Ava. One big happy family.


Sarah Williams

Veterinary Nurse

It has been a lifelong passion for Sarah to become a vet nurse, and she adores caring for your beloved pets. She loves and takes care of them like they are her own. 

Sarah is the owner of two very mischievous and fun-loving Cocker Spaniels, Simbah and Korra, a very snappy turtle and a beautiful standardbred called Willow. 

Sarah is a very energetic person who loves her family and friends and enjoys a good joke. She loves avocado and puts it on anything.
